Music is a powerful medium...it can make you happy, sad, angry and brain-dead!
The big-wigs of the music industry know that music can motivate people. Somehow the notes hits chords with us and we can be moved in one way or another. When you are listening to or singing songs - what you sing actually goes into your sub-conscious mind. That is why sometimes we like a song long before we know what the lyrics are - when we find out they are words that really resonate with us.
This can be good and very very bad. Basically your whole demeanor and morals can be altered by the words & music you put into your subconscious mind. If we were truly aware of the things that can affect us so deeply (without us knowing) we would be far more likely to censor what we listen to.
If there is a type of music that you really love - it often reflects something about us. Does the music you listen to lift you up? Is it positive? Take this further - do you rely on it to feel good? Do you always have noise in the background - so you never have peace? This is a huge trap - that actually hinders your own creativity and fulfillment in life
