The lure of the bargain keeps many hooked...
Why does the occasional bargain keep people hooked - even after many bad experiences? It's amazing - people buy things they haven't seen or tested from people they don't know and then are suprised when something goes wrong! But the thrill of the chase and the mental 'hook' that someone gets when the item is on a low price somehow deadens their common sense so they pay more than they should - sometimes more than the new price! eBay is not the only thing that triggers a similar response in humans. Why are you not content with what you have? Why do you need more, bigger, better, faster, newer? People with less often have more - more fulfillment, more meaningful relationships, more friends etc
